Using the Peritum LMS (Learning Management System)

The Peritum LMS is built on the Moodle platform and creates a secure space for Peritum and its students to share and store documents, to receive notifications, to communicate with each other, etc.

You will be using the LMS for all your modules to:

• Access the resources which you will use to assist you in your study. These take various forms e.g. text, images, video, web pages, MS Office documents, Acrobat PDF files, assessments, and quizzes.
• To monitor/track student progress.

All exercise, assessment, and activity count towards the final evaluation of the module.

When you have worked through a resource, navigate back to the homepage by clicking on the Close button in the resource window.

Be sure to, as you progress, tick the little tickbox to the right of the paragraph or resource. This is a progress monitor and a placeholder. Once you have completed a learning unit, the tool will save this. When you log in again and re-enter this module, it automatically takes you back to the place you exit.

If you experience a problem, whether it is academic, administrative or technical, send an email with your query to Odprojects@peritumagri.com, who will ensure that that it is handled by the appropriate person.

PoE Formative and Summative Exercises

Instructions

Please complete and upload your formative and summative exercises.

PoE exercises download to your computers "Downloads" folder and open in MS Word, exercises can be completed in softcopy.

Remember to save your work.

Save the exercises with your name and student number e.g. Joe Soap 1399293 and exercise name e.g. Exercise 1A.docx/pdf

Once you are done completing the exercise you must upload it.

Print this version, which you will file in your hardcopy PoE file.

Click on the Upload link to upload your completed exercise.

The facilitator will receive an email once you have submitted your work.

An electronic register is automatically generated on the system.

Voltooi en laai u formatiewe en summatiewe oefeninge op die stelsel soos u vorder.

Klik op die PoE-oefening waar aangedui.

Dit laai dan outomaties af na u rekenaar "Downloads folder” en sal ook sigbaar wees tydens die aflaai onder links op u skerm.

Klik op die leer om dit te open in MS Word. Aktiwiteite kan in sagte kopie voltooi word.

Onthou om u werk te stoor soos u aangaan.

Stoor die aktiwiteit met u naam en studentenommer en die aktiwiteit se nommer bv. Joe Soap 1399293 Oefening 1A.

Sodra u die oefening voltooi het, moet u dit oplaai op die LMS. Dit doen u deur te klik op die instruksie vir oplaai (upload) op die stelsel.

Druk hierdie weergawe, wat u in u PoE-lêer met harde kopie sal hou.

Die fasiliteerder sal 'n e-pos ontvang sodra u werk ingedien het.

'n Elektroniese register word outomaties op die stelsel bygehou.
