2.4 PPE Worn During Loading and Off-loading

The Tremcard/Trec stipulates protective equipment for use during loading and off-loading an incident or mechanical breakdown. Please note that suitable PPE and PPC must be issued to the driver and crew of a vehicle conveying dangerous goods and hazardous materials. Consult MSDS for the correct specification of personal protective equipment suitable to the class of substance being loaded or off-loaded. The list is to be used as a guideline for the minimum PPE and PPC during loading and off-loading of hazardous substances includes:
- Self-standing reflective warning triangles (2 per vehicle)
- Reflective vest
- Protective goggles or face shield
- Protective gloves
- Protective shoes
- Eyewash bottle with clean water
- A respiratory safety device that will allow the driver to escape, if specially recommended by the manufacturer
- Light protective clothing
