Factors That Influence the Communication Process

The communication process is simple to understand and seems easy enough to apply. If this is true, why do we have so many relationships breaking down because of communication? Why are there so many misunderstandings in life? Why is a simple instruction interpreted so wrongly? Why do people get into each other’s hair about intentionally well-meant issues?
The reason for this is that there is a multitude of factors in this simple communication process that impacts on how effectively the message gets across.
These factors relate to:
The SENDER and his verbal and non-verbal encoding of the message.
The CHANNEL that is chosen to communicate the message and how relevant it is for the specific message.
The RECEIVER and his background, mindset and previous experiences and how that influences what he/she hears.
