Duties Of The Witness

Prior to the hearing:

• should assist in order to secure effective investigation and fair proceedings.

• should not be destructive in order to improve equity and fairness for all stakeholders.

• must prepare and attempt to recall as much information regarding the event.

• must ensure timeous appearance and attendance.

During the hearing:

•  act with integrity and openness at all times.

• answer all questions to the best of their ability.

• provide as much relevant information as possible (remember, a lot of weight will be given to your evidence and peoples livelihood may depend on what is testified).

• not discuss the events and process with other employees, especially before an outcome is given, in order to maintain mutual respect among stakeholders.
