- Eat a variety of foods. This means incorporating more vegetables and fruit in the diet and taking supplements such as multi-vitamins.
- Exercise regularly.
- Avoid alcohol or use it moderately.
- Stay alive – don’t become a victim. Keep your thoughts positive and create a supportive environment.
- Minimise tension. Tension has a very negative influence on the health of people living with HIV/AIDS. Tension can be managed if the person participates in a support group or speaks to an HIV counsellor/social worker
- Participate in recreational activities.
As employer, your attitude, support and encouragement can help to inspire an HIV positive person to make the necessary changes in order to maintain a healthy, productive lifestyle. Creating support groups could also be of help.
