The term “change” implies that something familiar ends and that something different starts. The period between these two stages is transition. This is where people must learn to let go of the old and embrace the new.

People have different degrees of awareness about diversity. To make a shift towards a deeper level of appreciation is a choice each individual needs to make. But change is difficult.

Change often involves an element of danger and opportunity. When change is announced, the first response from people is usually to see it as a threat or a danger. When it happens, people will fear and resist it.
