Gender (Sex) Roles and Stress

As women are taking on more roles – mother, employee, boss, wife, lover and single mother – they are coming to experience role-conflict, and in the process, are subjected to added stress and strain. Men, on the other hand, are coming to experience greater uncertainty in their roles as men – leading to problems such as gender identity. In a materialistic culture, man is also pressured to climb the work-ladder often at the expense of their families and their wellbeing.
