The chairperson will first handle certain procedural aspects.
The complainant must then:
Read the complaints into the record after requested by the chairperson to do so.
Make an opening statement by referring (in a summarising fashion) to the main point as to why there was a complaint laid against the accused and what will be proved on a balance of probabilities.
Inform the hearing how many witnesses will be called.
Call the first witness.
If statements were prepared, read it, and ask the witness to confirm the content.
Ensure that enough copies of all documents are all available.
Put well-formulated and, as far as possible, open-ended questions to the witness.
Ensure that the case and evidence (as you envisaged it) are properly presented before the chairperson.
