Four core processes have been identified related to the management of the grain cycle:
- Pre-intake management
- Intake management
- Management of grain in storage
- Grain shipment management
In addition, the grain silo manager will typically also be responsible for the following functions:
- Management of staff
- Budget management
- Security
- Optimisation of current systems and equipment through continuous renewal and capital projects
In this learning unit we will describe the four core processes with reference to the course of the process, the performance indicators (how success is measured), the risk analysis and recommendations of how the process can be improved.
