Kurtosis

Kurtosis/peakedness of a distribution refers to the degree of concentration of data around the mode. The flatter the curve, the greater the spread of data, and therefore, the larger the standard deviation relative to the mean.

The three forms of kurtosis are:

Leptokurtic is a distribution with a relatively high peak.

Platykurtic is a flat-topped distribution.

Mesokurtic is a distribution that is neither very peaked nor flat-topped.
