Crop planting equipment is used in establishing crops.
Planting String
A planting string consists of a string with wooden pegs. The pegs are inserted into the soil, and the string is tightened. This provides a straight line on which planting is done. It is used when establishing seeds, bulbs or seedlings, and allows straight line planting, making later maintenance such as weeding, fertilising and harvesting easy.
Sprinklers, Pipes and Hoses
Once planted, all seeds, bulbs or plants will require watering. Generally, this will be done using an irrigation system. Take care to ensure that the hoses and pipes are not damaged by implements when preparing the soil for planting and that vehicles do not run over and damage irrigation systems.
